CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IN THIS BROKEN WORLD
by Vienna C (Partner)
We are very grateful to God for the opportunity to serve in Chiang Mai, Thailand, at the School of Promise. In 2021, after COVID-19, we faced challenges returning to the mainland due to visa issues. In His providence, God led us to Chiang Mai, where our children completed their high school education. Since 2023, we have been blessed to join the School of Promise, a school founded sixteen years ago with a vision of providing quality Christian education to break cycles of poverty, oppression, and human trafficking.
When the school began, it had just twelve students. Today, it serves one hundred and sixty students from grades 1 to 12 from Myanmar and Thailand. Its mission is holistic Christian education for families in poverty; many students have been traumatised by family issues. At the School of Promise, we train students to grow as devoted followers of Christ, integrating biblical values in every subject.
Over the past three years, I have taught high school history, English, Bible, piano, and Physical Education (PE), while my husband teaches middle school home economics, equipping students with life skills. The school is now fundraising to build a new secondary facility, expanding classrooms, science labs, music rooms, and athletic fields with the aim of attracting more local Thai students.
We believe this type of education will equip students not only for life but to be future leaders and transformers in Thailand. We are deeply thankful for all who support this work— your prayers, encouragement, and generosity are vital. We invite you to partner with us in prayer and ministries.
