THE JOYS AND LESSONS OF BEING A SUPPORT PERSONNEL

Since I was young, I have always liked to understand the complete process and sequence of events, hoping that each part could find its place and that I personally would be able to do the best that I can in my own work to bring glory to God.

I thank God that He led me to start working in the Sichuan Chief Representative Office (SCCRO) in 2018. I provide project and personnel logistics support in the areas of finance and administration, allowing the SCCRO to make even better use of their resources and abilities. I greatly enjoy this behind-the-scenes job and have learned many things.

TEAM
Not only must I manage my own financial reimbursement and recording responsibilities, but I also need to understand project development, ensure funds are allocated on time, keep in view whole environment changes, and such. Only with our whole team coordinating well with each other can we pool together the wisdom and efforts of everyone and get projects done!

PATIENCE
I need patience in managing financial work, spending time and effort auditing and reviewing numbers. I also need much patience when explaining financial standards and requirements to staff members who do not work in finance. I am learning to change my way of thinking and to see things from the other person’s perspective. This has led me to learn about patience and grace.

FLEXIBILITY
When dealing with administrative tasks, I must have flexibility, and also the ability to multi-task. What I am grateful for is that I do not easily get tangled up in complicated matters; I can immerse myself in details, day in and day out. Each time I finish a small task, I feel satisfaction and joy.

HUMILITY
I ask the utmost of myself when it comes to my own work. I also do as much as I can to help others to reduce the administrative and financial workload of the team. I must humbly accept everyone’s individuality, learn how to mutually respect and understand each other within a multicultural team, and not fuss over individual successes and failures. This way, everything that our team does collectively can become a beautiful testimony and bring glory to God!
